Main responsibilities
In this position you will contribute to the planning, preparation, execution and monitoring of quality assurance processes for products delivered by the Industrial Department.
You will be part of QA team ensuring quality for middleware solutions which are enabling I4.0 for a wide range of industries we serve. This includes highly reliable and scalable communication services which connect enterprise's IT and OT areas, and cloud with on-premises systems.
As part of most modern industrial control solutions, the central part (middleware) consists of architectures based on open standards communication foundations (MQTT, OPC UA, REST) which offer secure and reliable connectivity between different layers of the control solution respectively other enterprise resources (MES, ERP, SCADA, ML/AI, other).
The area covered by your responsibility is authoring (specification, engineering, test, integration, maintenance) desktop software applications which are key components of the modern plant information management systems and industrial control infrastructure.
These processes include:
- Studying and understanding the requirements of the systems under test
- Configuration and operation of hardware test environments (simulated or real including test benches, PLCs and sensors, IOT Devices, network management and monitoring equipment, local test networks etc.)
- Configuration and operation of SQL, NoSQL DBs, MQTT Brokers
- Documentation (test specification, test cases, test reports) in accordance with internal manuals, ISO procedures and project specifications
- Test plans development (estimates, scheduling or sequencing activities)
- Configuration Management
- Test activities following various approaches (integration, regression, system, installation, functional, performance, load, exploratory, etc.)
- Continuous Integration configuration (Jenkins, GitLab)
- Configuration, use of Proxmox servers hosting the VMs with various operating systems for tests
- Developing Python software applications for frontend and backend automated tests
- Running compliance test tools, other internal test tools and documenting the test results
- Configuration, use of Docker containers and VMs for deliverables generation for test purposes (Optional)
As seen above, the QA job is very diverse, enriched with activities which are typically covered by job positions like Dev Ops, Application Engineer, Developer.
Required skills / Experience
- Experience with automation testing tools and scripting languages (especially Python)
- Experience with bug tracking and version control systems
- Good understanding of software development processes
- Passion for software applied in engineering
- Good communication skills
- English language (both reading and writing)
Would be a plus
- Knowledge/experience in C++ programming
- Previous experience in PLC programming
- Previous experience with Docker
- Knowledge/experience in security testing
- Previous experience in industrial projects or industry specific experience OPC, OPC-UA
